Questions About Needle Felting?
Find answers about our Haapsalu wool felting classes, techniques, and what to expect as a beginner
Not at all. Our beginner classes are designed for people picking up a needle for the first time. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold the needle, understand wool fiber, and build confidence before moving to more complex shapes and sculptures.
The 4-week course covers wool fiber properties, proper needle techniques, creating basic three-dimensional shapes, blending colors, and tool safety. You'll walk away with your own finished pieces and a solid understanding of how to keep practicing at home. All materials are provided during class.
This 6-week workshop dives into the specific wool felting methods rooted in Haapsalu's textile heritage. You'll learn how traditional Estonian craftspeople worked with wool, explore historical patterns and natural color palettes, and discover techniques that have been passed down through generations. It's perfect if you've already got basic felting skills and want to connect with the cultural roots of the craft.
Pricing details are on our services page. All needles, wool, and felting mats are provided during class—just bring yourself and a willingness to learn. We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit of fiber on, and having a water bottle handy.
Yes. If you've experimented with needle felting before, the Haapsalu Traditional Techniques workshop or our Sculptural Wool Figures course might be a better fit than Fundamentals. We can chat about your experience level and help you pick the right class.
We keep groups small so you get personalized attention and enough space to work comfortably. Smaller classes mean we can adjust the pace to match where everyone's at, and you'll actually get feedback from your instructor instead of just watching from the back of a crowded room.
